9th Kyu Grading- Red Belt
To gain the red belt grade with Chikaku, you will need to demonstrate your kata, Kihon, all the way through. Mistakes will not cause you to fail your grading at this stage, so do not worry.
At all times you must try your best and show your willing to try.

8th Kyu Grading- Orange Belt

Shuto uke – the sensei will strike towards your face and you will guide the red foam baton away.
8th Kyu Grading - Orange and White Belt
To gain the Orange and white belt grade with Chikaku, you will need to demonstrate your kata, Heian Nidan, at least half the way through. First Kiai. If you can perform all the kata try to do so. Mistakes will not cause you to fail your grading at this stage.
You will need to remember all components from the previous grade and maybe asked to perform them in the 8th kyu grading.
